Methodologies

While TD understands that each organization and client is unique, their requirements can be applied to "The Hexagon" methodology, a proprietary tool that provides them with a tailored approach based upon their specific needs. With this in mind, TD have provided below an understanding of the methodology that it takes in meeting your requirements.

A high level overview of our methodology is depicted below: (7D's)

Goals and conceptual solutions are formulated at a strategic level. All of this is carried out from the perspective of the user and his/her needs. This requires a comprehensive understanding of behavioural sciences, communication and of the unique possibilities offered within the field of digital communication.

It is the integration of these areas of competence and expertise within TD that makes us outstanding in the field of digital communication.

Define
The first stage of any project involves defining the challenge. The question asked is "What is the problem?"

Tactical Designs' definition stage revolves around determining exactly what is communication problem that needs to be addressed and if our competency and expertise can provide the solution.

Discuss
The next question is "What do we want to achieve?"

Once the problem has been defined, TD seeks to determine the level of solution that it can deliver rather than provide an all-encompassing solution that may not always be the most effective one. Otherwise, if needed, levels of solution executed at predetermined timelines will be plotted out.

Design
There are a hundred ways to skin a cat, so to speak. "What are the ways of solving the problem?"

The Design stage takes in all the analysis and definitions from the define phase and allows our pool of designers to commence the interface design and apply use case scenarios. The client is presented with a range of concepts that are then refined with the assistance of the client.

An optional stage often undertaken within the design phase is Prototype development, which involves development of a working prototype around a use case scenario in order to prove the concept. This is taken out to focus group testing by the client, or alternatively to third parties.

Develop
The Development phase is the beginning of the official build. This is the phase that all system architecture, for example, is defined and code base built, as in the case of online solutions. TD provides clients with regular feedback as to the status of the project and delivery of key milestones. All milestone items are deployed to a staging environment for clients to approve online.

Deploy
"Let's make it work!"

Once all milestones have been reached, the complete system is tested as a unit and deployed to the staging environment. During this phase, all formal testing are completed and the developed solution signed off to be deployed. If required, user manuals and staff training are delivered at this point.

Determine
At this point, TD makes an overall analysis of the solution and determine if is working as expected while making adjustments to optimise its capability.

Defend
TD provides managed solution services that allow ongoing maintenance to be carried out on a Service Level Agreement. Tactical Designs also provides integrated web hosting and online marketing services. These services can be tailored to the exact requirements of the Client, and include full outsourcing as well as general maintenance plans. The basic intent is to make the solution work consistently and not solely on an interim basis.
